2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible. Overheats. New belts, hoses, water pump, thermostat, radiator, and cap.?

100,000 miles........

No oil, water mixing problem. No loss of coolant level. Overheats in clean air while driving down the highway. Can it possibly be the head gasket with no oil/water mixing? I've changed everything else in the cooling system! Ideas?

it could be the head gasket. sometimes the gasket will blow in a spot that doesn't mix oil and water, however it would be losing water if thats the problem.

it also could be the electric fan or just the relay. turn on the a/c and see if the fan comes on.

It sounds like a symptom of compression gasses entering the cooling system.Try looking directly into the radiator with the engine cold and just started. There shouldn't be any steam or gurgling or pressure of any kind.

It would also help to connect a pressure tester to the radiator. If it drops and there are no visible leaks,it may have a bad head gasket.
it is a head gasket or a bad head. if the heads are alluminum, and they are overheated they warp. pull out each spark plug one by one and crank engine see if any water is present. otherwise check compresion . it should be about the same overall. if you have a big difference in compression then have the head redone
try bleeding the cooling system

Removing radiator cap

Turning the car on

Set the heater on high

wait 10 minutes and put the radiator cap back on
make sure your cooling fan is working properly
